Message from Chief Craig Wilson

Chief Craig Wilson 2023Welcome to the University of Washington Seattle! I’m a proud UW grad, earning my degree in society and justice from UW in 1994. Then I attended Central Washington University to earn a master’s degree in law and justice. After graduate school, I joined the UW Police Department.

That was more than 25 years ago. I am now proud to lead UWPD, working in collaboration with students, faculty and staff to provide a safe and secure campus.

I’m originally from Alabama, but my service in the U.S. Navy brought me to the Northwest. I immediately fell in love with this area and was happy to return and raise my family here.

I am proud to lead a police department that lives its longtime commitment to community policing. We believe meaningful relationships with the communities we serve make all of us safer.

Please don’t hesitate to say hello when you see us around campus. We are part of the community we serve.

Go Dawgs!
