UW police are investigating after three Hyundais and a Kia were targeted in the Central Plaza Garage on Thursday, Oct. 8. The four incidents appear to be related. The vehicles may have been targeted because of a known security vulnerability for certain models of Hyundais and Kias.
One Hyundai was reported stolen, and a second Hyundai had evidence of an apparent attempted theft. A window was broken in a third Hyundai. The Kia had a broken window and damage to the steering column.
UWPD is working to identify the suspects involved in these crimes.
