Administrative Services

The University of Washington Police Department’s Administrative Services Division provides administrative support, technical services and records keeping.

Safety Services

Safety Services includes the Campus Safety Responders, who respond to calls for service for non-violent issues and other incidents; and risk mitigation.

Information technology

Technology and campus policing are advancing at an ever-accelerating rate, as evidenced by the widespread use of mobile and wireless technology, high-powered computing, visual and audio technology, advanced analytics, electric and hybrid vehicles, and other technological breakthroughs. We have become safety innovators thanks to the deployment of Axon body cameras, mobile computing systems in patrol cars, advanced encryption radios, and even social media.

Communications Center

The UW Communications Center (police dispatch) is a Public Safety Answering Point. Our professional dispatchers screen 911 emergency and non-emergency calls and ensure the response of appropriate resources to maintain the safety and well-being of our campus community. We staff the center 24 hours per day, every day of the year.

Records

Records maintains all law enforcement incident reports, accident reports and citations. This unit responds to public records requests and provides background checks, performs records data entry, records retention, updates the 60-Day Crime Log and supplies the department’s crime data to the FBI.
