Patrol
Patrol is responsible for responding to calls for service, investigating crimes, responding to alarms, and assisting members of the community. Officers proactively patrol the UW Seattle campus and surrounding area 24/7 in marked police vehicles. The Patrol Bureau has two Explosive Detection Canine Teams who also patrol the campus and perform pre-event protection for special events.

Community Engagement
UWPD’s goal is to increase community awareness about the risk of campus crime by utilizing crime prevention services, tips, and social media posts. Our officers work with students to generate a sense of personal responsibility in each individual, to increase personal awareness, and to prevent or reduce criminal opportunities.
