UW Police

Welcome Huskies

The men and women of the University of Washington Police Department welcome our new freshman class to campus for the very first time, and extend a hearty “welcome back” to our continuing students, graduate students, faculty, staff and administrators. The UWPD mission statement symbolizes our commitment to professionalism, excellence, collaboration, and engagement working with all community members, visitors, and guests to provide a safe experience for all.  We continue to invest in community relations, innovation, and technology to reduce crime and the fear of crime.

The UWPD is committed to safety and security for all UW students as they continue their educational journey. As your police department, we are committed to the idea of an open society where education and the free exchange of opinions are paramount for every student, regardless of their race, creed, gender, sexual orientation or immigration status. Simply put, our differences make our community stronger.

We continue to embrace a community policing style of law enforcement that empowers the community and the police to work collaboratively to resolve problems.  Contact any police department employee or email us if you have suggestions in making our campus safer.  We invite you to partner with us to enhance safety cooperatively on the UW Seattle campus.

Go Huskies!
