This message is being communicated to all faculty, staff and Seattle campus students with the approval of the UW Police Department. This message is sent in the interest of public safety and in compliance with federal law requiring timely warning notification of crimes committed on or near campus. This is not a UW Alert message. On Tuesday, Aug. 10, at 11:54 p.m., UW Police Department officers were called to a robbery in the E-12 parking lot, south of Husky Stadium. A woman reported that three men had approached her near her car, took her purse and keys, and injured her wrist. The suspects drove away with her Hyundai Santa Fe SUV northbound on Montlake Boulevard. The victim, a UW employee, was treated at the scene. Police were unable to apprehend the suspects.

A similar incident occurred on July 29 at approximately 6:00 a.m. in the E-19 parking lot, adjacent to E-12, when four men approached a woman, displayed a gun, stole her Honda Civic and drove away northbound on Montlake Boulevard. The victim, a UW employee, was not injured.

Both cases remain under investigation.
